The teams each had 2 MKM Rocketman prepared LT-R450’s. The race format was 1 hour practice/qualifying on the Saturday morning, followed by the 1st stage for 2 hours in the afternoon, the 2nd stage was 3 hours in the evening finishing in darkness at 10pm leaving the final stage of 5 hours on the Sunday morning. At the end of each stage, the quad that each team was using, carrying the transponder would be locked away so no maintenance work could be done.

All of the teams rode very well, producing some excellent results.. Team 1 qualified in 3rd place, finishing 1st in stage 1, 2nd in stage 2 and 1st in stage 3.

Officially giving the team an overall 2nd place, however they feel very unfortunate to have not taken the victory due to some confusion and a lack of communication with the officials.

A chequered flag was shown half way through the 3rd stage, Stef Murphy stopped with the other quads until realising the other leading riders were passing, noticing this he put his helmet back on and tried gaining back the time lost through stopping, having created a 2 minute gap between him and the other riders before this, it was a bitter blow. The team went on to win the 3rd stage by 30 seconds, however this wasn’t quite enough to take the overall win. Team 2, Liam Ryland, Sam Barrett and Kieran Power also rode extremely well and put in some very fast consistent lap times, Taking the under 21’s title and finishing 7th overall. Team 3, Antony Barrett, Chris Murphy and Geoff Sharp finished an excellent 15th overall and winners of the veteran’s class. Team 4, Ant Deacon, Laurence Stopps and Nigel Munday had a very enjoyable race finishing in the top half of the leader board in 39th place.
