We managed to get a cutaway of the new Podium RC3 shock from Fox last week. What an amazing piece of engineering! That goes for the cutaway itself and the Podium RC3

The cutaway clearly shows some of the trick, new internal features that you will only find in the RC3.

The bottom out control system is displayed in all its glory, with all the oil paths and adjuster mechanisms cut out to show the free bleed adjustment at the end of the stroke, the taper in the BOC chamber and the 'blow-off' valve that has a factory preset maximum pressure.

You can check out the new FAST preload adjust system in a video on our website HERE, but what you can see from this cutaway is the profile of the load bearing threads for the spring preload. No 'normal' thread here designed to lock and not designed to cope with mud! Fox's thread is designed to slide, designed to load bear and designed to cope with mud!

You can also see the sweet little one-way valve down in the guts of the shaft amongst the main valving. This is the AWC - Anti Wallow Control which closes off the rebound adjuster oil flow to the compression direction cutting wallow when you have a faster rebound set-up for comfort or grip.

Over and above everything what this shows is the quality of the internal parts inside a Fox shock and the attention to detail. What looks simple from the outside is a Zen-like attention to internal detail! Not for Fox to install a 'valve cap' like everyone else! Check it all out in the gallery pics below...
