The possible weight savings and suspension benefits here are phenomenal. Imagine being able to lop a kilo of weight off a bike that is already sporting Ti valves, alloy frame, etc, etc... More than that to be able to lose that weight without affecting the strength of the bike (important!) and to gain in every area attached to the part - sprung/unsprung weight ratio, suspension compliance and feel. If you could achieve all of this by simply swapping a rear shock spring you'd be daft not to?
