The Fabien Barel invitational race ‘Urge Nepal’ is a bonkers mix of climbing, hiking, riding and oxygen deprivation on the way to 4350m altitude (5600m was planned but the snow level was worse than expected!) followed by an insane ‘proper freeride’ back down a mountain, a real mountain... The event is in it’s second year (It was Kenya last year) and is focussed not just on the riding but also on helping the local population by taking money directly to the remote areas involved. Check the link below to find out more about the event, here are some words from Fabien –sounds wild!

After 5 days of hiking and riding in the middle of the Himalayas Fab’ has won the URGE Népal on the front of Nico Vouilloz and René Wildhaber. “the ride was just amazing with a lots of high speed sections. We set up the new Mondraker Foxy with a Fox FLOAT 36 and it was a great compromise between manoevrability and stability. The run was shorter than planned due of the snow level but the quality of it was unreal… We rode 150K on 4 days mainly downhill into Népal. It was a great opportunity to share the culture with the local and learn about this wise country. A Mix of Indian and Chinese background that unfortunately has given a real instability on the political side but kindness in the population that shows as a real solidarity. The URGE Népal has met all our expectations” Pictures and videos will be soon on www.urgenepal.com
