testing

After the success of the early season races the team was ready for a week of intensive testing and technical training with MOJO suspension. Chris porter of MOJO was out from the UK to help with the suspension testing and to enjoy riding with Fabien and Damien in the south of France.

The week went really well with some interesting developments in the bike settings and rider speed aimed at the next 2 world cups (Ft William and Leogang). The riders tested various setups on some of the roughest tracks around, notably San Romolo! The times were looking good and the physical condition of Fabien and Damien was shining with up to 10 runs a day

To round up the weeks work the team raced at the regional DH of Roubion organised by Cagnes VTT, with the high level of young riders including some of the top French names, the race was on!

Fabien and Damien were joined by Aurelien who was feeling much better and recovered from his shoulder injury and as 2010 winner he had the pressure on him.

The track was long and complete with all different types of terrain from rocks and technical to bike park style jumps and berms. The heavy rain on Saturday soaked the track and made the run really difficult do to the thick mud. The team stamped it’s authority on the track after the first round with Aurelien taking first place followed by Fabien and Damien.

By the afternoon the track had dried a lot and the tyres and suspension settings changed. Damien was first down for the team but did not have a very good run, suffering with a chest infection he found the pedalling section very difficult which left him “out of breath) for the final technical woods and made a big mistake sending him off track, fortunately he did not crash but lost his speed for the finish.

For Aurelien the run really went well and his strong physical form showed as he powered is way to the finish line with a solid second place.

Again it was Fabien who was the star of the day, he had a good technical section and felt like he was having a good run until he came into the last technical parts where he could feel that the past weeks hard training had taken its toll. He controlled the end of his run well and managed to put a second between him self and his team-mate Aurelien.

A great result with 2 of the podium steps filled by the Mondraker Factory Team and Damien just behind in 4th Place.

A well deserved rest now for Damien and Fabien with some more testing leading into Ft William world cup, Aurelien and Patrick will travel to the First round of the French cup in Brassac.

A big thanks to Chris Porter and the MOJO crew for their support.
