We've recently taken delivery of the first complete Fox Racing replacement cartridge kit. They are a fantastic looking kit designed to completely replace the standard Showa/KYB internals with a sealed, inverted, pressurised cartridge with adjustable compression and rebound and hydraulic bottom out control. It utilises the standard spring but replaces everything else! It shows the usual Fox attention to detail in adjuster design, hard anodising of parts and CNC machining |

We've been running it in a CRF150 coupled with a Podium X DSC rear shock and we've been VERY pleased with the results! From an initial test with Fox stock settings the performance already surpasses that of the standard Showa, however, after a few rides dialling in the adjusters and oil volumes to suit the rider, the results are nothing short of extraordinary, the range and separation of adjustment allows fine tuning to be done quickly and accurately and the separation of bottom out control from initial damping control allow for a much more comfortable compromise between 'armchair soft' and 'racer hard'... After a bit of fine tuning the cartridge and shock combo felt so good we had to wrestle the rider to the ground to get the cartridges back! He was not happy to roll back out on standard carts! Poor petal... |

They'll be available within a month or so (keep an eye on the site) and will be priced, er, competitively!! We still don't know the final 'pounds and pence' yet, but we'll try to price 'em so we see 'em in forks not on the shelf! They'll be available for Showa forks on CRF150, CR85 and RM85 and for KYB forks on YZ and KX85s. Nothing planned for the KTM SX85 unfortunately, they aren't as popular in the States! I'm sure other applications will follow, again, keep an eye on the site! |

The only thing that gets used from the standard internals is the spring! An amazing feat of engineering, the MX-C cartridge simply bolts into the fork leg and takes over all the damping duties in a clean, sealed, no fuss fashion. lubricating oil is added to create the oil level but is separate from the damping oil giving consistent, fade free performance. |

With a compression adjuster atop the fork and an internal, hydraulic bottoming cone, you can get the compromise between comfort and bottoming that eludes most schoolboy set-ups... |
